Why Siemens + DWS IQ
Siemens captures the operational data across the European built environment and industrial base. DWS IQ turns that data into action — signed, submission-ready EU compliance output and writeback into the same building and industrial systems so they run more efficiently. One command, 90 seconds. EU-sovereign by design.
Two partnership angles
Angle 1 — Smart Infrastructure (Buildings)
Nordic real-estate owners, REITs, construction groups, and municipal property companies now face CSRD Wave 2 (FY2025), the EPBD 2024 recast (Directive (EU) 2024/1275), and EU Taxonomy reporting on real-estate activities 7.1–7.7. Siemens captures the operational data they need. DWS IQ turns it into signed, submission-ready reports with KYA-governed writeback: HVAC setpoint adjustments, maintenance work orders, renovation-passport triggers.
Integrates with: Siemens Building X · Desigo CC · Navigator · Enlighted
Angle 2 — Digital Industries (Synthetic Data Wedge)
DWS IQ's SyntheticDataAgent — built on NVIDIA NeMo DataDesigner — generates structured compliance and production data that does not exist in real datasets: fault scenarios, tolerance deviations, process variations, edge-case building profiles, rare grid events. Natural plug-in across the Siemens Xcelerator stack for training quality-control models, digital twins, and compliance reasoning engines when real data is scarce, confidential, or regulated.
Integrates with: Siemens Xcelerator · MindSphere · NX (incl. NX AM) · Mobility telematics · Energy grid-event pipelines
Data flow
Compliance mapping (Buildings)
| Siemens data | Regulatory output | Evidence type |
|---|---|---|
| Metered electricity, district heat, gas consumption (per asset) | CSRD ESRS E1-5 (energy consumption), E1-6 (GHG Scope 1 & 2) | Metered kWh with timestamp + EU ETS-grade emission factor |
| HVAC runtime, envelope losses, building performance indicators | EPBD 2024 recast — energy class, renovation passport | Annual primary energy kWh/m2, compared to national reference |
| Asset register, certifications (BREEAM, LEED, DGNB), renovation history | EU Taxonomy — Substantial Contribution & DNSH (activities 7.1–7.7) | Per-asset Taxonomy-aligned revenue / CapEx / OpEx percentages |
| Occupancy sensors, indoor CO2, PM2.5, thermal comfort | ESRS S1 (own workforce) + EPBD indoor environmental quality | IEQ compliance evidence for office portfolios |
Synthetic data use cases (Digital Industries)
Additive Manufacturing QC
Synthetic fault scenarios, tolerance deviations, and process variations for training quality-control models on AM (NX AM, HP MJF, EOS, Trumpf, Stratasys) production lines.
Predictive Maintenance
Synthetic CNC and injection-moulding process datasets covering rare failure modes the real data doesn't contain yet.
Digital Twin Training
Edge-case building profiles (historic, off-grid, mixed-use) for pre-training CSRD / EPBD / Taxonomy reasoning models before live rollout.
Mobility & Grid Events
Synthetic rolling-stock sensor data and ENTSO-E Fit-for-55 grid-event scenarios for Siemens Mobility and Siemens Energy digital-twin workflows.
Full capability: DWS IQ Synthetic Data Solutions. Built on NVIDIA NeMo DataDesigner. NVIDIA Connect ISV Partner.
Target customers
- Nordic real-estate owners & REITs: Fabege, Atrium Ljungberg, Castellum, Citycon tier
- Construction groups: YIT, SRV, NCC, Skanska tier
- Municipal property companies across Finland, Sweden, Norway, Denmark
- Industrial customers on Siemens Xcelerator seeking synthetic-data-augmented QC and digital-twin training
Deployment options
- Edge: NVIDIA Jetson Orin Nano or DGX Spark for air-gapped sites, critical infrastructure, and defence-adjacent portfolios. No outbound connections required.
- EU-sovereign cloud: Aiven (Helsinki), Scaleway (Paris / Amsterdam), UpCloud (Helsinki) for multi-site portfolios. No US data routing.
- Hybrid: edge ingest with periodic sovereign-cloud sync for centralised reporting.
Partnership status
Design-partner scoping active with SI Building Nordics (Siemens Smart Infrastructure Buildings, Nordic unit) as of April 2026. Pilot target Q2–Q3 2026 with 3–5 Nordic portfolios. No formal commercial agreement announced.
Strategic intent: open a broader conversation with Siemens Xcelerator / Digital Industries on co-developing NVIDIA-backed synthetic-data pipelines across the platform, not only buildings.
